Counsellor/Psychotherapist – Portuguese Speaker Required: London

Annual Salary (FTE): £28,600 (pro-rata)

Fixed term contract with possibility of extension

We are seeking for a committed Counsellor/Psychotherapist Latin American woman to join LAWRS’ Counselling and Psychotherapy team which offers a women-centred, culturally specific service in Spanish and Portuguese for Latin American women victims and survivors of violence against women and girls (VAWG).

The successful candidate will undertake crisis interventions, clinical assessments and provide one-to-one short term therapy.

The Counsellor/Psychotherapist will also contribute to develop LAWRS client base and organise and deliver workshops and group work.

The main duties of this post include:

  1. To provide high-quality specialist counselling and psychotherapy services, adhering to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
  2. To effectively manage an adequate caseload and carry out all related administrative tasks.
  3. To organise, develop and deliver (jointly with volunteers and other workers) workshops and therapeutic groups for women victims and survivors of VAWG to increase awareness within the Latin American community and among other communities.

The post holder will be BACP accredited or equivalent or BACP registered and working towards an accreditation.
