An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 qualified counsellor to join the Steps2change IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) team at Elm Lodge, Grantham to provide therapeutic counselling interventions to people experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues.

We are looking for an experienced counsellor who has the enthusiasm and skills to join our service which is committed to making a difference to the people we serve.

Steps2change is a successful IAPT service which achieves above average recovery rates and has consistently achieved a 90% recommendation rate since the introduction of the friends and family test.

The successful applicant will work as part of an established supportive team consisting of CBT Therapists, Counsellors, IPT therapist, PWPs and Administrators.

Your role will be to offer counselling intervention in line with NICE guidance.

You will also be required to undertake psychological assessments of patients referred to the service, deliver therapeutic interventions to a caseload of clients, keep accurate records, and collect relevant data.

You may also be asked to work in Sleaford if this is required by the service.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with a wide range of people and also be flexible and adaptable to meet service needs.

You will hold a Diploma in Counselling and have at least 400 hours’ of supervised practice.

Experience in CBT and/or Solution Focused Brief Therapy will be an advantage, although not essential.

You will be accredited with the BACP/UKCP or be working towards this and will need to have completed the Counselling for Depression qualification or be prepared to undertake the training.
