Family Support Counsellor Required: Guildford, Surrey

 

Hours: Part time Wednesday evening  4pm-8pm

Location: Based in Guildford

Employment and Working Hours

  • 12-month contract (self-employed), possibility of extending subject to funding
  • £20 per hour for support sessions, meetings with Youth Counsellor and supervision and £15 per hour for administrative tasks

Main purpose of role:

The Family Support Counsellor works together with the Youth Counsellor who supports young people aged 13 – 24, male or female, who are survivors of rape and sexual abuse. The Family Support Counsellor’s role is to provide support, for family members of the young person being supported through our Youth Counselling Programme, through the provision of up to six family sessions.

Essential Skills: 

  • Over 100 hours of general counselling experience
  • Minimum of Diploma in Counselling
  • Awareness of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedure
  • To adhere to the BACP code of ethics
