The School Counselling Service will be available in school from 8.30am – 4.30pm Mondays to Fridays, though some flexibility on these hours is possible to fit the needs of students and counsellor.
The post is term-time only (36 weeks). A job-share arrangement would be possible.
Diploma level or above in Counselling or Psychotherapy.
BACP accreditation (or equivalent) or UKCP registration.
Further therapeutic training or qualification in working with children and young people.
Experience of working with children and young people in a therapeutic capacity.
Terms and Conditions
The post is offered on a term time only basis and will be conditional upon the employee entering into a contract of employment with the school, a satisfactory medical fitness check, the receipt of satisfactory references, evidence of qualifications and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Term time is normally between 35 and 36 weeks and therefore the successful applicant will be paid 42/52 of the full time equivalent point for the post. Working hours will be 8.20am to 4.30pm with a 45 minute lunch break.
It may be possible for this post of offer a job-share for this post.
The full – time equivalent range is currently from QEH32 (£30767) to QEH36 (£34132) so the effective range is £24850 (42/52 x £30767) to £27568 (42/52 x £34132).
The successful applicant will be entitled to join the school’s contributory pension scheme.
The employer contribution is 7% and the employee contribution is either 5% or 7%.
The successful applicant will be entitled to a free lunch on days that students or staff receive lunch at school. Children of full-time staff are educated with a 50% remission on fees (pro-rata for part-time staff) which also applies to daughters educated at The Red Maids’ School.
