Salary: £35,813 – £38,549 FTE (Weldmar Salary Scale)
You will lead Weldmar Hospicecare’s Bereavement Service, which forms part of our holistic and specialist palliative care.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will have operational responsibility for the management, delivery and development of the service, with a provision of a counselling and support service to patients, families and carers.
You will be a highly experienced counsellor with management experience of leading a team. As such, you will develop and manage an effective and skilled team of staff and volunteers, with responsibility for their ongoing support and supervision.
You’ll have a First Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling as a minimum, and in depth knowledge of counselling theory and research. You will also have accreditation with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or UKCP and ideally accreditation or certification in Clinical Supervision.
It is essential that you have knowledge of, or experience of working in a palliative care environment and an understanding of working with other health and social agencies. You will have an in depth knowledge of attachment and loss theory and current bereavement thinking and research.
