Eating Distress North East exist because every individual affected by eating distress deserves specialist support, hope, and to know that recovery is possible.
EDNE and Newcastle University have worked closely for several years, with our specialist counsellors working within the Student Wellbeing Service to deliver up to 16 sessions of counselling and psychotherapy to students at Newcastle University.
We are continuing this work into the academic year 2023/24 and are recruiting for a full-time counsellor to work alongside an existing part time role.
You will work in Newcastle University Student Wellbeing Service and be employed by Eating Distress North East, benefiting from support and development opportunities across both organisations.

The Student Health and Wellbeing team offers compassionate, responsive, confidential support for students experiencing emotional and mental distress.
We offer 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (full time equivalent), a training budget plus ongoing training on eating distress specifically, and peer supervision and support.
