Job summary

Hours: 30 hours p/w

Duration: Permanent

Salary: Clinical Pay Scale Band 6 £35,392 – £42,618 per year

(Actual Salary based on 30 hours, £28,313 – £34,094 per year)

 

The Wellbeing Team is a specialist therapeutic team working in the bereavement setting, helping people to help themselves. The Wellbeing Team consists of Adult/Children and Spiritual service.

You will provide a comprehensive, therapeutic counselling service to our patients and their loved ones, both pre and post bereavement through identifying the nature, severity and complexity of our service users requirements, through thorough assessment to formulate and implement care plans.

Requirements:

You will be a qualified counsellor and be registered with an appropriate professional counselling body (e,g, BACP)

You will have advanced training in the theory & practice of counselling and possess practitioner level knowledge of at least two models of psychological therapy.

You will have significant counselling experience and have gained experience of clinical assessment in a counselling setting, and will an excellent knowledge and understanding of needs associated with loss, grief and bereavement.

While not essential, we encourage applicants who can speak community languages to meet the requirements of our diverse communities.

Main duties of the job

As a counsellor, you will be working with individuals/groups and have a busy but manageable workload. Our aim is to see all our clients within a month of being referred. You will be working across both Hospices in Erdington and Selly Oak.
