Grade 11:12 FTE £33,524 to £38,565 (Equivalent £16,321 to £18,772 for 3 days)
We are looking for a counsellor, who is experienced and qualified to work with children and young adult students aged 7-19 (school) and 16-25 (college) with learning disabilities and complex needs including ASD and ADHD, attachment disorders, mental health and childhood trauma.
The role would also include group work on issues such as bullying, self-esteem and anger management. The candidate appointed will use personal treatment plans and an integrative approach to explore and address the client’s thought processes, feelings and behaviour, understand their inner conflicts and find new ways to alleviate and deal with distress. Experience of using the arts therapeutically would be beneficial for our students.
Working in a confidential, safe and supported environment, you will be able to explore and understand our student’s perceptions and behaviour and help them identify changes they need to make to guide them towards positive life decisions.
