Barnardos Orchard Mosaic is looking for a qualified counsellor/ therapist to work with families, providing counselling to children, young people and adults for families who live in the East of Newcastle. This role will work between two well established Barnardos Projects: Orchard Mosaic and the Community Family Hub East.

The successful candidate will be a qualified counsellor/therapist with considerable experience of working with families and individuals both in the community and in an office based environment. You will also be registered with BACP or equivalent.  You will work with families who are supported by the Community Family Hub and respond to a variety of mental health and family needs, for example depression/anxiety in adults and children, impact of trauma, challenging family relationships which are impacting on the emotional and mental health of family members.

You will be based over two sites at Orchard Mosaic in Jesmond and the Community Family Hub in Byker. You will receive regular case management and clinical supervision. You will be part of the wider Therapeutic Team within Orchard Mosaic. You will also work closely with the Community Family Hub, linking in with family practitioners, attending case review discussions and working in partnership to support the whole family. You will be part of the Community Family Hub Mental Health & Well Being Focus Group looking at supporting the wider team with access to advice, resources and understanding of mental health and well-being and the need for supporting continual self-care.

The role will involve direct work with children and adults and may take place in a variety of setting such as family homes, in the community at the Community Family Hub, in schools and in the Orchard Mosaic building
