We are currently seeking to recruit a Children and Young Person’s Counsellor for the Glasgow Hospice.

The role is varied and key responsibilities include the provision of specialist counselling to patients, carers, children and significant others using individual, group and family techniques as appropriate; working across the hospice and community setting.

The successful candidate will also work alongside the adult bereavement service and provide counselling to adults as required. With the support from colleagues, responsibility will also be taken for the co-ordinating of referrals. This will include processing the registration of clients and initial contact to the family and overseeing client’s agreements, working closely to support volunteers, and supporting the Co Ordinator to develop the children’s service. The successful candidate will be expected to attend regular Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings and provide education and training to the wider hospice staff.
