As Mind and Body Practitioner you will provide school and community based support, information, training, education and guidance to young individuals in relation to self-harm and risk taking behaviour.

You will be committed to improving access to appropriate services for young service users with mental health issues, specifically self-harm and risk taking behaviours.

As our Mind and Body Practitioner you will deliver continuity of care through effective partnership working and support the day to day operation of services through the delivery of appropriate evidence based treatment interventions.

You will manage an active caseload providing structured psychosocial interventions and harm minimisation strategies to young persons, and assist in the delivery of an integrated service through the provision of assessment, goal planning, appropriate referral, support and interventions.

You will develop and disseminate emotional and mental wellbeing information, advice and health & social wellbeing in both group and one to one settings and screen.

We are recruiting three practitioners to join our Kent Mind and Body team who support 13-25 year olds who may be struggling with self harm or their wellbeing.

  • One post will be based in North Kent Schools, predominantly covering Dartford, Gravesend and Swanley schools working with 13-17 year olds.
  • The second post is based in the community working with 13-17 year olds across Kent.
  • The third post is based in the community working with 18-25 year olds across West and North Kent with some remote delivery.

Applicants should possess excellent communication and casework attributes, be confident using IT, have proven experience of working with young people with complex needs and should have excellent engagement skills. The role necessitates effective partnership working with other agencies and candidates should be equally skilled in engaging young people and professionals alike. As you will be required to travel across Kent possession of a car and a full, clean driving licence is essential.
