Online Bereavement Counsellor – Home based (30 – 37.5 hours a week)

We have a growing demand for bereavement counselling so are seeking to recruit qualified and experienced counsellors to join our expanding service.
We are a fast growing team in a service specialising in time limited bereavement counselling. You will be part of a strong and vibrant group of counsellors with vast experience of working in this field. Sue Ryder has strong values we adhere to. Counsellors will be BACP or UKCP accredited. We are looking for experience of working with bereavement and delivering counselling online, primarily by video link and by telephone on occasion. We would welcome applications from counsellors with additional training in working online & telephone, although further training may be available. Working hours are between 8am & 8pm Monday to Friday – we have a particular demand for evening appointments.
We would welcome applications from counsellors experience in BSL
. Providing bereavement counselling via video link.
. Assessing clients for counselling and working with the AAG (Adult Attitude to Grief scale)
. Working ethically and in line with organisational policy and procedure
. Confidential, timely and accurate record keeping
. Being supportive towards the ongoing development of the service
Essential skills and competencies:
. You will need to be a qualified counsellor with a degree/diploma, substantial post qualifying experience with knowledge of bereavement issues and models.
. Experience of providing counselling by video link is essential.
. Formal training in online counselling is desirable (minimum of 80 hours CPD).
. You will be responsible for ensuring that your practice is safe and confidential in line with quality and governance policies and procedures.
. An ability to work flexibly and adapt to change.
. You will need a quiet, private workspace and reliable high speed internet connection.
. As a home based worker it is important that you’re able to form effective and positive relationships within the team and the wider organisation.
This is a national service and occasional travel may be required.
