Barnardos is looking to employ an experienced practitioner to work on the Pause project, supporting up to 8 women in Gateshead. This is full time, temporary post covering maternity leave until end of March 2023.
Pause works with women who have experienced, or are at risk of, repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care. Through an intense programme of support, it aims to break this cycle and give women the opportunity to reflect, tackle destructive patterns of behaviour, and to develop new skills and responses that can help them create a more positive future. In doing so, we aim to prevent the damaging consequences of thousands more children being taken into care.
Practitioners are the operational driving force behind this intensive approach. We require professionals who are confident and competent in interfacing with and supporting access into the range of interdisciplinary domains that complex-needs adults experience. The case load is small but the work intense, and as a result, we expect practitioners to be able to embrace creativity in their practice and manage the client facing work whilst at the same time maintain rigorous application to professional development, documentation and analysis of the work.
Applications particularly welcomed from those who have or are currently working with women with complex needs.
When completing your application please refer to your skills knowledge and experience in relation to the Person Specification, Job Description and Additional Information document (if applicable). This should be done with an understanding of the context of the service described.
Barnardo’s offers a hybrid working model covered under our `Work from Anywhere’ Framework, therefore vacancies advertised with this as an opportunity are open for applicants to either work from home or any location within the UK, including Barnardo’s Hub/Office that is a reasonable distance from your home address.
