School Counsellor Required (Barca): Leeds, West Yorkshire

Part Time up to 22.5 Hours per week
(Preference for 3 days per work would consider 2 days per week)
Term Time Only – Fixed term until March 2024

Our Counselling & Wellbeing Service delivers a range of school and community-based individual and group counselling to adults, children and young people. We provide a children young people’s counselling service across a number of Clusters and are currently recruiting within Beeston, Cottingley & Middleton and JESS. School-based therapists provide short term targeted emotional health and wellbeing support, via a range of therapeutic interventions, for children and young people. The purpose of the counsellor’s role is to provide short-term (12 weeks), evidence-based therapeutic interventions to pupils in primary and secondary schools.

Applicants must demonstrate within their application how they meet the essential requirements as listed in the Personal Specification and hold a relevant counselling qualification. Applicants will also need to demonstrate a good understanding of the particular factors and issues faced by children and young people in relation to the maintenance of good mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Level 1 – £27,580.00 – successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress to level 2 with support and continuous professional development after 12 months in the role and with satisfactory performance

Level 2 – £29,580.00 – successful candidates meet and can demonstrate at interview all requirements and have the
required post qualifying experience
