Salary details: Range 6 £30,888 – £34,014 pa/pro rata (actual salary £14,665 – £16,149)

Contract type: Permanent (Starting ASAP)

Hours: 21 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday – 8.30am – 4pm.

About the role

Role title School Counsellor
Hours: 21 hours per week/ 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 8.30am – 4pm) – term time only (37.4 weeks plus 3 inset days, 38 weeks in total)
The School is seeking to appoint a qualified School Counsellor who will be responsible for the provision of a high-quality counselling service to students using a wide range of therapeutic interventions. The role requires an accredited qualification in counselling recognised by a professional body such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
This role is a job share role with a qualified counsellor.

About you

Qualifications
Maths and English to at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent (essential)
Qualified Counsellor with proven track record of working in a school setting (desirable)
Graduate status or equivalent (desirable)
Experience
Experience in working within a school environment (desirable)
IT competency (essential)
Working with young people (desirable)
Skills / Competencies
The desire to work with young people (essential)
The ability to work as part of a team (essential)
The ability to work independently, use initiative but take direction (essential)
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) (essential)
