School Counsellor Required: Ardlingly College, West Sussex

Ardingly College is looking to add to its existing counselling service provided through the Health and Wellbeing centre. The candidate will provide a professional and confidential counselling service to the students of Ardingly College on an individual, in person basis. Flexibility is required to provide a service to staff as needed.
The ideal candidate will be qualified or have training in an integrative counselling model that can be applied to short term client work and have at least 2 years post qualification experience with school age children or young people. Knowledge of current Child Protection practice is essential.
The role requires someone who is able to establish good working relationships with professionals and agencies as well as students and parents, therefore strong communication and interpersonal skills are key. As is a sympathetic and diplomatic approach.
The ability to maintain clear, up-to-date notes and statistics is imperative as is the ability to work confidentially under pressure and be responsive and adaptable to change.
There are 2 posts available and the hours for these roles are as follows during term time only (34 weeks per year)
Post 1 12 hours per week split over 2 days (1 x 7 hour day and 1 x 5 hour day)
Post 2 7 hours per week
The salary is based on £35,000 FTE
