The Royal School is seeking a highly motivated candidate with a Post-graduate Diploma or Masters-level qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy, and an accreditation from a recognised CBT or counselling professional body to join this heavily oversubscribed day and boarding free school.
The school’s distinctive ethos and culture is a truly holistic view of the personal development of the child and is central to all that we do. The candidate will have a demonstrable understanding of the developmental, emotional, social and educational issues affecting young people from diverse backgrounds for pupils aged 5 to 18+ and staff. The candidate will be expected to:
Provide students and staff with individual counselling and support.
Work with the school nurse
To provide a collective approach to addressing barriers to progress.
Work with a diverse range of issues including bereavement and loss, transition, eating disorders and self-harm, depression and anger management, abuse of any kind, and anxiety/fears.
