The role

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Counsellor to join the Family Support Service at St Richard’s Hospice. The successful applicant will lead a team who provide structured support to adults with an illness that cannot be cured and their carers and loved ones, as well as adults and children who have experienced the loss of a close fiend or family member.

The team offers a wide range of support including Counselling, a Bereavement Service (including Bereavement Support South Worcestershire (BSSW), Social Work, Citizens Advice and group support.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the line management of the Counselling team and to carry an active caseload, taking responsibility for management and organisation of own client group.

About you

The successful applicant will have a recognised degree or diploma in Counselling/ Psychotherapy.  You will be expected to be member of BACP or other appropriate professional body and maintain your professional competence.

You will have experience of providing line management to Counsellors, experience of working in loss and grief and experience of working with trauma in bereavement and palliative care are essential for the post.

Due to the nature of some of the role requirements, a current UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

This role requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
