Student Well Being Therapist Required: Danbury, Essex

Salary: Up to £24,480 per annum (Pro Rata)

Summary of role

As a Student Well Being Therapist, you will deliver therapeutic wellbeing counselling sessions to students by means of online technology and face-to-face at our Danbury Centre, as well as participate in therapeutic group activity sessions alongside other staff to develop relationships with students.

You will work closely with Red Balloon of the Air Staff to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with students, their families and the professionals supporting them.

You will work to ensure students have a positive experience in all areas of their provision at Red Balloon of the Air, including education, wellbeing, community engagement and transition support.

This role is based in our centre in Danbury, Essex but will also involve travel to students to support and work with them at home and in their local communities as appropriate.

As a developing ‘satellite’ centre of Red Balloon of the Air, this role will play a key part in the development as we expand.

Due to the collaborative nature of this role and the teams that support our students in their progression, this role will report to the Essex Lead and coordinate with the Face-to-Face and Link Mentor Teams. Therefore, occasional travel to our centre in Cambridge will also be required.

What you will need to succeed

It is essential that you hold a relevant Clinical/therapeutic qualification as a counsellor, psychologist, social worker, psychotherapist, family therapist and be accredited or be working towards accreditation with a relevant professional body (e.g. BACP, BPS, or UKCP).

You must also have experience in building and developing relationships with young people, alongside the ability to maintain detailed records through the use of various IT platforms.
