Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre (CRMC) is the only organisation in Coventry dedicated to providing impartial and confidential advice, guidance and support to asylum seekers, refugees and migrants living in and around the city. We are a local, medium-sized organisation which has been welcoming refugees and migrants since 2000. Our aim is to help people to rebuild their lives and achieve their full potential in safety and dignity whilst supporting integration and encouraging active citizenship.
We currently have a very exciting vacancy for a Counsellor. The position is being funded through Integrate Coventry.
The role requires an individual who can provide counselling to vulnerable refugees with complex trauma. You will be working closely with CRMC’s Therapy Services team and Integrate team, as well as departments within CRMC.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that provides specialist counselling provision to individuals with complex needs.
The post holder will have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification counselling experience, preferably working with refugees, and will be experienced in working with interpreters. You will also have experience of counselling and its regulatory bodies, preferably within the charitable sector.
The clients receiving therapy will be part of the project entitled Integrate Coventry. This project is a comprehensive programme of support and activities to help refugees to integrate more effectively.
The post will be based at Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre, Swanswell House, Bird Street, Coventry, CV1 5FX.
