Steps to Wellbeing is a busy, dynamic and progressive service with a friendly and supportive team of qualified clinicians and staff in training.

The role itself is both demanding and rewarding; providing psychological interventions to people with mild to moderate common mental health problems in primary care. We are looking for people with enthusiasm and passion to join our service. Good administrative, time management and communication skills are also essential. Experience of working within the NHS service or similar organisation is highly desirable.

You would undertake academic training, provided and accredited by University of Exeter. Time would be split between University study and on-job training. The on-job training would include learning about CBT-based self-management for clients suffering from mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression, using a stepped-care approach. All trainees/apprentices will receive intensive supervision and support in their workplace as an integral element of their training.  The post is a full time position, part time applications cannot be considered due to University commitments.

As well as joining a supportive team in an essential role, we can also offer you:
• Great opportunities for continuing professional development
• You will receive a comprehensive and structured induction programme and training.
• NHS pension scheme
• Holiday Pay
• NHS discount and salary sacrifice scheme.

Please make sure that you have have fully read and understood all aspects of the Job Description and Person Specification before applying for this post. Please use the “Supporting Information” space to demonstrate your ability to undertake this role, drawing on your skills knowledge and experience.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £40 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.  This will only apply to candidates who are new to the Trust and not internal staff.  Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service and are able to present a valid DBS certificate will not incur a charge.

We are expecting a high volume of applications for this post; please be aware that we may close this advert earlier than stated if this is the case. It will not be possible to provide individual feedback prior to the interview dates due to the expected high volume of applications.

We aim to finish shortlisting applications by the 10th December so you are unlikely to hear if your application has been successful until the end of this week. We are holding virtual interviews on the 15th and 16th December.

You will not be able to make multiple applications, so please choose the area that you would like to work in if you were to be successful. There are two separate adverts which clearly identify the locations:

1) Bournemouth or Poole (Urban) – Current Advert

2) Purbecks, East Dorset and North Dorset  (Rural) – 152-M501.21
