We are looking to appoint motivated and enthusiastic Trauma Counsellors to join our Trauma Counselling Service covering the South Lanarkshire area. The service provides 1:1 counselling and group work to adults and young people who are affected by adverse childhood experiences and substance use.

What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will be experienced trauma focused Counsellors, skilled in delivering trauma interventions. In addition, you will have a sound knowledge and understanding of supporting individuals affected by substance use.
We use a phased orientated approach to working with trauma and focus specifically on Safety and Stabilisation. The post holder should have the necessary understanding and skill set demanded of this phase to work effectively with survivors of traumatic experiences.
You will have a minimum of a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling and have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience. You will be required to be a member of an accredited body, such as BACP, BABCP or COSCA and will be either accredited, or working toward accreditation.
The post holder will be required to;
- Assess suitability for trauma therapy.
- Formulate, implement and evaluate treatment programmes in collaboration with the client.
- Assess risk and manage a caseload
- Offer 1:1 Phase 1 trauma therapy
- Make onward referrals as required.
- Deliver group work interventions as required
- Undertake clinical supervision & reflective practice sessions on a regular basis in line with relevant professional guidelines.

This is a casual contract and a flexible approach to hours and working patterns will be agreed with the successful candidates.
The hourly rate is made up of £12.71 basic rate plus £1.53 holiday pay.
