This post provides assessment and counselling sessions for young people, and supports volunteer counsellors on placement, including the planning and delivery of counselling sessions designed to meet the needs of young people. You will also take responsibility for the welfare and safety of clients and volunteer counsellors during counselling shifts and develop partnerships with external agencies to promote the work of the counselling agency and to develop joint work and identify ways of delivering preventative interventions including group work.
You will need excellent communication skills to engage young people and their families, building trust and confidence, and the ability to deliver training to other professionals with enthusiasm, knowledge and skill. We are a small team, so a degree of flexibility will also be required to help cover colleagues when they are absent.
A role profile is available and when completing the application form please ensure that you meet the essential criteria before deciding if you should apply.
A full driving licence and car, or equivalent mobility, plus an enhanced DBS disclosure will be required, and you must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
