OTR are looking for an enthusiastic, engaging, knowledgeable and dedicated Youth Mental Health Practitioner to join our team based within the CAMHS Urgent Care and Assessment Team (UCAT) in North Somerset. This role involves working in collaboration with NHS colleagues to deliver an Intensive Outreach Service for young people up to the age of 18 years old across North Somerset (and occasionally Bristol and South Gloucestershire when weekend working). The successful applicant will help deliver a robust package of care that will support children and young people who are experiencing a mental health crisis or who are requiring intensive support.

The role involves delivering a variety of psychoeducational interventions informed by therapies such as, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Systemic Family Therapy. A creative approach is required to engage and support young people who present as high risk and have perhaps struggled to engage with interventions such as talking therapies. An ability to build therapeutic relationships with young people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds is paramount to this role. You will be supported in the role through a six month probation period, regular supervision and reflective practice.

The primary base is Drove Road, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 3NT. This post requires occasional working from Campbell House, Henrietta Street, BS2 8HR.. A driving licence is therefore required as well as access to suitable transport (either a car, or a willingness to use pool cars).
