Spectra are looking for an experienced, reliable, creative, outgoing therapist or counsellor to manage our counselling service for LGBTQ+ YP (Young People, 13-18 years). Relevant recognised qualifications (minimum L4 Diploma level) in the field of therapy, counselling and/ or psychology are required. In addition, you must be an accredited or registered member of a professional body (i.e., BACP, UKCP or HCPC).
This is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse and experienced team of practitioners and we encourage counsellors, therapists and creative arts therapist to apply (drama, art, music, dance movement or play).

This role seeks to build upon and develop Spectra’s thriving YP counselling service. You will have experience of delivering psychological therapies online and in-person and identify under the broad umbrella of LGBTQ+ yourself (Spectra’s therapeutic service operates as a peer led model). You will hold a strong understanding of the mental health support needs of LGBTQ+ young people and be confident in engaging with young people in a supportive, affirmative and non-judgemental way.

You will support the service in ensuring high quality and consistent delivery in line with KPIs and outcome frameworks. Vital to this role will be developing robust referral pathways with key professionals and partner organisations (charities, mental health teams, CAMHS and GIDS). You will be confident and knowledgeable of issues faced by LGBTQ+ young people and the barriers they may face. You will be supportive of our client groups, and competent to deliver and develop a high quality, responsive service.

The role will take a hybrid approach- working both online and attending onsite meetings and clinical work in London.
