Hours of Work: 3 days per week (regular evening and occasional weekend work)
We are currently recruiting to our specialist LGBT domestic abuse counselling service.
We’re looking for a qualified counsellor with experience of working with people who have experienced domestic abuse.
London Friend runs a specialist free counselling service for LGBT people who have experienced domestic abuse.
This is funded by London Councils as part of the London LGBT Domestic Abuse Partnership (LGBT DAP).
The DAP lead agency is Galop. London Friend is an organisational member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), however counsellors come from a range of theoretical orientations and may be accredited with or working towards accreditation with other bodies such as the UKCP.
The post holder will be responsible for the overall management, delivery and administration of the counselling service.
This post would be suitable for someone who is currently practicing or who has been practicing as a counsellor or a psychotherapist with extensive experience of working with domestic abuse, and who has excellent organisational skills to manage the administrative duties of the role.
The case load is expected to be around 12 clients per week.
