We are looking for a qualified music therapist with substantial experience in adult mental health and evidence of Continued Professional Development since qualifying.
The post holder’s work load will include assessment and treatment of people experiencing a hospital admission associated with acute mental states.
Individual and group work should draw on evidence-based approaches as part of the inpatient adult mental health Arts Psychotherapies provision within the Westminster and K&C Arts Psychotherapies Service.
The post holder will be required to provide maternity cover on the wards and lodge, planning, providing and developing a music therapy service for inpatients on two of the primary intensive care wards at St Charles’ Hospital as well as the inpatient mental health rehabilitation ward at Bluebell Lodge.
Strong links should be developed with the multi-disciplinary teams on these sites.
The music therapy service will include doing systematic assessment, treatment and evaluation of individual/group work, using music therapy.
The post holder, where possible, will also be required to manage and clinically supervise allocated staff, specifically music therapy trainees, 20-day placement psychotherapists, and regularly undertake arts psychotherapies research/audit as part of the Trust Arts Therapies research strategy.
The post holder will be required to work autonomously and to manage a busy and complex caseload.
Significant interest in and experience of working with acute states of mind is desirable, as is experience of and an interest in service evaluation and research.
