Qualified 🙂  ……and now what??

Q) Are you volunteering to gain experience as organisations require 2-3 years experience?

Don’t be put off, some counselliing providers define ‘Experience’ differently,

Q) Is it impossible to apply for PAID counselling work when your current non-counselling salary is higher than counselling salaries?.

Don’t be put off, there will always be PAID employment if you’re seeking online work.

Plus practicing privately is a great way to gradually move towards full-time PAID counselling work.

How to gain paid counselling work

There’s a Way To Gain Experience and PAID Counselling Work!

Via Directories, Platforms and Online Counselling Providers

Counselling Directories provide you with a Profile page but do ask for a monthly subscription.

Counselling Platforms do not ask for a subscription, and provide you with more AI software

(ie: video sessions, text or telephone chat, online bookings, a diary/calendar and payment system)

There are currently Online Counselling Providers who even recruit counsellors in training

Therefore, it is much more likely that they recruit newly qualified counsellors and those with no, or little experience.

Face-To-Face or Online

Employed or Self-Employed

Part-Time or Full-Time

Below in italics is one example of a qualified counsellor called Rosa who used our service. They were unnecessarily volunteering to gain ‘experience’ in order to secure PAID counselling work.

Firstly thank you for sending me all of those options, I honestly didn’t know there was so much out there. I’ve had a look through them and will definitely have a go at applying. I will need to get some insurance sorted firstly as I let mine lapse due to not working as a counsellor. Do you have any recommendations for this?

Also, the way you set every organisation out with a description made things so much simpler. I felt like I knew exactly what I would find with each link. Anyone who has been in my position would be amazed by how simple it is to get paid work. This would definitely be a valuable service for newly qualified counsellors, I wish I’d reached out sooner!
