Nottingham Trent University: Counsellor Required
Salary : Grade H (£33,199 – £37,345 p.a.)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, appropriately qualified and experienced counsellor to work within Student Support Services at Nottingham Trent University (NTU).
Our Student Support Services make an important contribution to the NTU student experience, providing specialist and professional services for students across three University sites.
Our Wellbeing Services offer a multidisciplinary range of specialist interventions to promote student success; our counsellors work alongside other specialist practitioners to deliver a high quality and responsive student–focused service.
We require you to be a BACP accredited Counsellor, UKCP or BABCP registered Psychotherapist, or HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist and have substantial post qualification experience in providing brief counselling in a Further Education, Higher Education or other institutional setting.
You will be a team player who can work at pace, is adaptable to change, and who has a pragmatic and flexible approach to counselling.
You will have excellent interpersonal, administrative and organisational skills and an ability to prioritise your own workload to meet the needs of the service.
You will also contribute to the development and provision of a range of services offered by the Wellbeing team.
You will have a clear understanding of the application of counselling to the student population and, in addition to providing brief counselling, you will also provide initial assessments for the Wellbeing Team, and other duties as appropriate.
You will be a strong communicator as the role requires liaison with staff in academic schools, Student Support Services, other university services as well as with external agencies.
