Online Counsellor Required For Young People at Xenzone, UK

 

The salary is £25k per annum FTE (£18,571 p.a. for 26 hours)

This is a permanent position subject to satisfactory completion of probationary period.

 

The post is 26 hours per week – delivered mainly in the evening (until 10pm) and including a minimum of one regular weekend evening per week (Fri, Sat or Sun). 

 

 

Xenzone are leading pioneers of online counselling in the UK, having won a number of prestigious awards. We have worked with 35+ commissioners and more than 95,000 young people so far.

Xenzone runs the nationally recognised and award-winning young peoples’ counselling, support and advice service called Kooth, which is available online and in some areas, also face-to-face, and an adult version, called QWELL.

Our team is made up of a unique combination of expert mental health therapists, counsellors, skilled managers and IT specialists.

Together they deliver and continuously develop our online e-therapy services and face-to-face counselling and support.

We are recruiting qualified counsellors to work in our online counselling and support service for children and young people, called Kooth.

Our service is open 365 days per year from 12-10pm.

 

Requirements

Online Counsellors are required to hold a professional counselling qualification and have a minimum of 450 hours of practice. They will be accredited or working towards accreditation.

A minimum of 3 years experience of working with young people [11-25yrs] in face-to-face settings is essential.

Those with a Counselling for Depression qualification in addition to their main training will qualify automatically for interview.

Previous experience of working online is not essential as full training is provided.

Confident use of technology is advantageous as is an awareness of emerging trends pertaining to the emotional and mental wellbeing of children and young people and the online environments they inhabit.

A typical 26 hour post includes 6 x 4 hour hour shifts. For example:

1 x 12-4pm

2 x 4-8pm

3 x 6-10pm

Two hours per week are used for attending team meetings and training.
