We are seeking to recruit a part-time student counsellor within the Wellbeing & Mental Health Team which is part of Student Futures.
The post holder will hold a counselling caseload of students experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties, undertake initial counselling assessments, and help enhance counselling service provision to students across a range campus sites including Chester, the surrounding areas and Warrington.
The successful candidate will have full accreditation with either the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), or be eligible for (and working toward) accreditation with these professional bodies.
They will have experience of short term counselling as well as a wide range of therapeutic interventions including CBT. The ability to assess and manage risk is essential.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Counselling Service and related projects.
Knowledge and experience of providing short-term counselling in a Higher Education setting would be desirable.
